Pitti Uomo 90 attendees noted the atmosphere of Pitti felt slightly less energized than usual, but even so, there were a lot of strong looks that commanded attention.
As a world-class trade show featuring the best menswear designers in the world, Pitti Uomo is also known as an event that represents a pilgrimage to Florence for sartorially-minded people from around the world, who celebrate men’s style by “dressing up and showing up” for Pitti Uomo every January and June.
Pitti has evolved to become theglobal event of the year for the menswear industry. This year, the number of street photographers exploded and aspiring fashion and style neophytes and aficionados alike showed up either to conduct business, write about men's style, or promote their names and brands.

Add some snap to your look with a boater hat:
Even if you're not headed for the Henley Royal Regatta, wear a rowing blazer to create a great nautical mood:
Too hot this summer? Stay dressy by forgetting the suit coat, sports coat, blazer or jacket, and wear a vest with your button-down shirt instead.
The ascot scarf may look 'so British' but can be used to soften the formality of an ensemble while delivering leagues of flair:
Feel like you've over-worn the same suit one too many times? Take a tip from Pitti people and do a total button overhaul to make a suit look fresh.

Lapel pins express your creativity. Stay away from pins that are logos for brands and choose a pin that is expressly you.
It's a guideline few know: mixing mini patterns together does not (usually) overwhelm the eyes but does make you look like an expert in pulling yourself together.
Back with a vengeance is the regimental tie:
If you like large formidable checks on fabric but think you look like a tool wearing them, try trousers with big checks and play down the top half of the body.
The tassel loafer is still in full force and doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.
If you're affiliated with the menswear business and haven't had the chance to attend Pitti Uomo, we hope you'll plan to make the journey in the future. You will likely discover that the trip is worth the effort.
